The BioDisc® WWTP from Klargester France

The BioDisc® from Klargester was one of the first compact domestic sewage treatment plants, first commercialised over 34 years ago, and is arguably the best known and longest produced wastewater treatment plant available in Europe. The BioDisc® works on the principal of slowly rotating discs which support naturally occurring bacteriological growth which basically eat the organic matter in the wastewater. These units can be specified for between six and 350 inhabitants. Particularly suited to a variable load, the BioDisc® unit is odour free, silent in operation and gives a high level of treatment ensuring an ecological alternative to a fosse septique. The Klargester BioDisc® compact domestic wastewater treatment plant also comprises the unique and patented « Managed Flow System », which by equalising the throughput and outflow from the biozone, ensures very consistent wastewater treatment quality and outflow quantities – far in excess of French regulations.
